The Moose is on the loose AND From the Offices of my mental Grralh

Mark Messier is being celebrated in the city over the last few days. Ceremonies are being put up around both Edmonton and St. Albert to honor yet another great hockey superstar. There is even going to be a section of St. Albert Trail going to be renamed in his honor. Now let me see, It goes from St. Albert crossing to Messier drive to St. Albert trail to Grout Road. Ummm I hated that road because of the 17 trillian names it went with before, because the GPS also gives it a street number and a highway number. Also there is a lot of businesses and homes along that road. It's going to cost the people a lot of money during the switchover here as well as a lot of confusion to travellers. But that is what the city wished to do.
A reasonable thing is to name a new road or a bridge that didn't have a collective namesake. There is a new road going to extend up into St. Albert from the Anthony Henday (sp?) Why they couldn't name the part of the road extending past HWY 16 north to St. Albert is beyond me. They could've made it another excuse to bring Messier back into town and sell off a bunch more murchandise as they open the new road bearing his name. Even the radio guy said why not name the high/low level bridge Messier Crossing (I like the name BTW) so that people wouldn't have to change their business cards, mailing addresses, etc. to accomidate the road change. He was even willing to pay for the new name plate that they could screw to the bridge. It makes sence. True it may cause some confusion as people change from one name of the bridge to the other but it wouldn't confuse travellers as much. Many travellers wouldn't care if they are crossing a bridge with one name or another as long as it is the right bridge! Personally I get confused when someone gives me the street road number for Stony Plain Road, or the Whitemud.
But I will give my woot woot to the moose. We the public, who watch hockey, will miss you and thanks for the many great years.

Okay as for my grralh who has sat very patiently on the sidelines as I got my Messier rant out of the way. &^#$@)*&^ #)*&^# GRAWL #*^&% WASBIK *pfft*
Translation: I've been trying to get a new look to the blog and it isn't working. I can't get it look how I want to and it's frustrating on dial up due to the fact that it takes two hours to upload a picture that took me less than half an hour to create with photoshop. *blows raspberry*
Seeing that I might have to download a patch for the blog to make it look how I want to it might take me a few days to repair it, because I can't do that here at work. *soothes the grralh with some manga* In other words I'll be in not a favorable mood with blogger til it is complete, but whenever am I happy with blogger right now since switching to beta?

Celebrity Newspoints Commentary

Okay I haven't been really paying attention to the news as much as I would like to but I have noticed one or two that I have to comment about and the internet makes the perfect shoebox.

1. Anna Nicole: Okay there is celebrities that die of OD often. I really don't blame her for doing drugs. The last few months of her life was nothing but stress and public humiliation. She had a little girl that birthed nothing but controversy and hassle. Personally I wouldn't like to have pictures begraded of myself after giving birth. Everyone probably looks like hell too.
Then her son dies. Probably the most horrific thing to happen to a mother, especially one that was as close as they were. In the mists of this there was fights in the background about the daughter, the reporters flooding and following her around all over the place. It wouldn't surprise me if through all this ANYONE wouldn't resort to something to escape. Then she dies and the people around her cannot leave her alone! Even in death there is fights around her, to even where to bury her, where her child should go. It's all so stupid! And the sad part of the whole thing is if the little girl stays quiet for the rest of her life and doesn;t go and be an actress or model, Anna Nicole will never be mentioned again.

2. Britney Spears: So what! She shaved her head big freaking whoop! Stop shoving her drunken fat face on my screen every time she decides to go out and have a drink or do something that seems silly! Millions of women around the world go out to the bars with their friends and sometimes over do it. No one is making a point of it all. As for shaving her head, I think it makes her look better, and it allows her to have more freedom over her looks. Wigs (in comparision of the money she brings in off her royaltys) is pretty inexpensive and allows her to go from a punky redhead to a long straight burnette in the matter of minutes. And in having long hair myself I thought to shave it all off once or twice, but 1. It would make my hairstylist cry, and 2. I probably have a really dented head with the amount of times I hit it over the years.

3. Prince Harry: The eyes of people have been on you for all your life, you should know better than to do stupid stuff that will get you into trouble. But that isn't why I put him on my list today. It is the military releasing that they are sending him to iraq. Umm. Wow... If I was a terrorist I would know where to find him alone in my country. Why they couldn't say that they were deploying his unit ONLY and not WHERE they were deploying it TO is beyond me. True most of the Kings have been in the military in their lives and known combat, but there is something to state it in your own country a hundred years ago and today. A hundred years ago the ability to spread news was slower and in some cases that was why some major things were able to happen. But in today's world news like that is spread instantly, not only to people who are on the pro parties or the neutral parties but to the against parties as well. To release something like that is potentially dangerous. But maybe I'm talking out of my butt too... I donno.

Memoirs of a Geisha Book review.

Okay I have had barely any time to actually read a book in the last while as I have been reading tech manuals for the last few weeks and reviews on all of those are BORING.... But in the mists of reading manuals and all that goes on in my life I was able to pick up this book and read it to the end.
There was a few things that made this book extremly hard for me to read. It has nothing to do with the way the book was worded or anything like that. For the first part the writer made it as if the person in the novel was a real person, however it conflicted with what was on the spine of the novel, which declared it to be fiction. Personally I have a mental issue with things like that and it bothered me all the way to the end of the novel.
Secondly I already watched the movie, which I'm glad I did before reading the book. I was already aware of some of the disappointing parts of the book which made me almost pull back and fling this book into some wall. The first is that the author was an american male and was writing as such, and it came through in the underlaying features of the book. It seemed through most of the book there was some sort of sexual reference and revolence, that it made it almost seemed that a geshia was a whore in pretty make-up. Meanwhile the movie had a more subdued tone of that in it by quickly skimming over all the sexual rig-more-all that the book conveyed.
Thirdly if there was people out there who liked this book they really should read Geisha of Gion (Geisha; A life) and get a more real aspect of how the life of Geisha was like by a woman who was one. Unfortunatly for my enjoyment I read the autobiography first and that was what I based this story upon for reality and truth. -_- Bad me.
Anyways the story of Sakamoto Chiyo is an interesting read, but the reality it paints should be taken with a pinch of salt. There is some truths beyond the words. There were girls "taken" or "sold" from their families, but in that time it was one of the better financial occupations for women. Many girls wouldn't be able to be financially indepentant any other way. It's quite interesting if one goes into the full depth of the matter.

Titles titles rah rah rah titles titles ha ha ha Mmmmn I love titles...

Yep have the Turtles song stuck in my head. But I asked Kim if it would make a good title and she thought so.

You people are evil. I warned you that I was going to do whatever was voted most popular in previous web poll. Therefore get killed by the cuteness whahahaha!

Yeah I haven't read many books and I really am tired so as it will take a bit to load this blog onto the internet (foul dial - up!)
But in stating that I have decided that Fridays will be the up-load date of the story blog, except on long weekends, when I have to lay paper on Fridays, then it shall be on either Thursdays or Tuesdays. So whatever you do DON'T CLICK HERE!

Valentines...

Okay for those who want to know why Valentines is something I have been putting an emphasis on over the last few days it is because of the following...

Every year on Valentines Boston Pizza makes these heart shaped pizzas as well as sell heart shaped "Valentines" that they stick up around the restuarant. A dollar from every sale of these pizzas and Valentines fo to the heart and stroke foundation. I congradulate BPs on making such a thing as a fundraiser that they are essentially giving away to, because the heart pizzas are no more expensive than the regular pizzas. True there is more romantic ways to spend Valentines but I think this is a more worthy cause than roses, wine, and a more expensive meal that is just a marketing ploy. I hate marketing ploys.

It's the Tuesday before Valentines...

Good morning peoples of the internet.
Once again I was chatting with random people on the internet. My MSN seems to always have random people added to it every day. Anyways we were talking about how the cartoons Disney is producing is falling in quality and the storylines are falling to the tank. I'm not meaning the new movies but the rehashed versions of old stories that should've been ended. Not meaning that I don't love that I get to see some of the old characters again but I think that if they do bring back the characters again that it should be of the same calibre as the original.
Now some you can't get the voices back, as in Simba off of Lion King. But that doesn't mean that the animation should suffer, nor does the story. So what do you think? Disney probably will drag these characters out once more and kill any respect we had once for them.

Animated Disney Movies
Which one of these Disney titles is likely to have another cheesy sequal added to the name? (You can pick more than one)
Pinocchio
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Lady & the Tramp
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
Robin Hood
The Great Mouse Detective
The Lion King
Poccahontas
Mulan
Treasure Planet
Chicken Little
Home on the Range

An exciting Friday!

As for those who may not know but I live within driving distance of WEM (west edmonton mall). I was going to dinner when we were driving down one of the ramps and smelt smoke. We thought maybe something got stuck in one of the vents and was burning. No such thing! When we stopped at the stop sign flashing lights and an orange glow took my attention. There under Silver City someone/thing caught fire in the dumpster under the pedway. It's already difficult enough to get a parking spot forget when the security car and fire truck is in the way. There was still a bit of smoke coming out of the dumpster when I clicked this photo. Couldn't get any closer though... Stupid police tape. Pretty exciting for being a normal Friday. Hmmm and Tony Romas had their ribs on sale too... Gives me something to Blog about. Oh and Oilers won last night yay!

Friday, February 09, 2007

Well it's the Friday before Valentines

I must admit that it is kinda interesting to see where it has gone over the last year. Last year I was going through Real Estate school to be an agent, Ben was semi living at my house and so was my Uncle. Now I am working at a small paper, still living at home, pretty much given up going for Real Estate *sigh*. But to tell truth it is nice to earn 2 paycheques, since I'm working at Island still for a while yet. Yay I'm gonna be outta debt pretty quickly!

And it's gonna be me and Ben's anniversary next Saturday...I'm excited for him. It's only the thrid anniversary, it's not as if it's my longest relationship or anything, but it's his longest and he still gets excited over every little milestone. As for me I more enjoy poking fun at his age, seeing that it is going to be his 10th reunion next year. On the other hand my own is in 4 years. It's funny how quick time has flown by and how far apart we all have moved. I wonder how many of us will be there in 4 years time, how many of us will be successful, how many of us married, divorced, with kids? I saw in the paper the other day a pair of classmates, married and had a little girl. Many more with ads showing them getting married or engaged and I have to be happy for them. Life is marching along for them, even though there is some days that I think I am still back in high school, sleeping in some dirty hallway, waiting for everyone to arrive, but have a feeling I have arrived too late and everyone is already walked past and going ahead.

It's a tuesday...

Hello people out there.
I wouldn't be looking up the results of the poll until the end of the week so vote and I think you can chose more than one choice. I will do whatever the poll dictates plus add more polls in the future.
Just a note saying I got a new job, and it seems to be something I can handle. Also I posted part of the next chapter. I am going to cut the chapters up a little so that they can be read quicker and it doesn't go on and on and on. Just remember that they are in reverse order! Have a good night.

A snowstorm, just perfect...

Please note the sarcasm here. "Well in the end of everything is perfect as white snow" I heard that quote before and I would have to bow to that idealism for the matter that it truly ended a perfectly nice mid winter weather that we had over the last week to a snowstorm. True that it wasn't the blizzard that we had recieved earlier in the year but today was almost as bad as the blizzard in my opinion. This time however I did manage to get off my butt and get the camera to see that it indeed snowed.

This was the scene that made me blink twice when I let the dog out this morning. Usually I can see the place across the road from here but it is barely made out through the blowing snow. Here though it was slowing for a moment. Also it made me realize that the birdfeeder was empty. If there was any poor little birdies out there braving the wind and snow there would be nothing for them to eat. It is hard to believe that only a few hours earlier the deck was clear.

Once again another scene showing that winter has it out for us. The second car in the background was only out yesterday. I'm glad that I was able to break away the ice that is now covered by the snow, but with the wind that is now blowing I'm not sure if the cement would now be icy underneath the drifts. I am expected to be at work tommarrow. Hopefully the buses wouldn't be running and I can use that excuse.

Why use an excuse? I have now one of those blasted colds that make you feel, sleep and breathe like crap. Meds aren't working so its something that my poor immune system has to kick on it's own. It's just sucks... I'm not sure who gave me this thing because for once Kim isn't ill with it, nor is anyone else, yet. So yes I'll admit it I brought this one into the house, but I wonder if I can still shift the blame onto someone else. Either way back to my green tea and cuddling up to my heater under a blanket and hope that it doesn't get any worse, or if it does, it developes into something that medication can battle against.

A rant about the police...

Sorry if you are a police officer or believe thay are above being human please go to another blog and check back in a week or two, cause yer not gonna like what you read in the next few paragraphs.

As for the other peoples critise as you wish. This is just something that has to be beyond the spectrum of my reality. (That made no sence but I move forewards not backwards)

Alright where to start? I guess at the soonest one that I heard:
A new condo unit is getting put up in Edmonton on 100th Ave right next to the police station. Think that would be one of the safest places to move into. Damn straight but not because of the police station. The developer is putting in the highest in anti-theift technology because the responce time from the police is too long. I can see it now... Person: "Can you send an officer by I was robbed! I live next door to the station."
Operator: "That will be a half hour responce time mam."
Person: "Can you shorten that if he got away through the police station parking lot?"

That Arar thing. A person must be a terrorist if they have the name Arar, common, right? Umm no. And it wasn't right to send him back to a country that tortures people. Well it seems like he won a settlement, which is more than the normal person would earn in a whole lifetime at once. Hmmn I wonder who really pays for that settlement.

Okay now for everyday things that piss me off.
On the average police absolutly abuse their cruisers for no apparent reason. There is no reason to race off on a just turned green light, or race down the highway doing 140 with no lights on. They should have a tackograph like truckers and whenever they push the engine past a certain RPM they have to write up the reason for why they had to. The same for the lights. I saw a cop once turn on his lights so he could run the red light, and then turn them off, then on again to run another red light. Wish I had a light that would allow me to run red lights whenever I wanted to.

Police should take one more half second before firing off their firearms. I have read many stories in various newspapers and magazines of police fireing off many many rounds of amunition at some person and NOT HITTING THEM. One in a riot hit another cop while in a gun fight. Meanwhile the suspect escaped? How did that happen? I always thought that the best way to use a firearm is to see what you are shooting before you fire. If you can't see and hit something as big as a human maybe being a police officer isn't what you should be doing as a profession.

Also I wish I can go to any store I wanted while I was working! I had a cop come into the store, cruiser parked out front. I go "Just getting off." he goes "nope" what do you get outta that?

Oh well done rant.

It's all in a name Part 2

I gotta thank Carrie for yet another thing that is kinda useless but fun none the less.

Kitten-Abducting, Maiden-Injuring Abomination from the Knobby Arcane Isle

Get Your Monster Name

Jewel Expertly Needing Naughty Indulgence and Fantastic, Erotic Recreation

Get Your Sexy Name

Kinetic Artificial Machine Intended for Assassination, Killing and Accurate Infiltration

Get Your Cyborg Name

Now those were fun site with cute piccys for avs but in the real world I wondered if there was more meanings on names than one thinks, therefore I thought to make it a real push to find some information on names and how it effects us. Would a change in name make a real change in how we are percieved or is it in the mindset of the person behind the name?

Of course like making impossible new years resolutions I don't think that changing your name will make a difference to the life of the person unless it makes them let go of the life they want to change. To go and change the name and go back to the same dead-end job and go "I want to be named such and such" but I found it interesting what the websites I found say:
Consider these possible indications of an "out-of-tune" name...

* you feel drawn to a people-oriented job, yet are constantly stuck doing the office paperwork.
* you desire a close, long-term relationship, but find yourself going it alone.
* you have repeated patterns of health problems that focus on one area of your body.
* you are accident-prone.
* you seek to be prosperous, yet are forced to deal with basic issues of survival.
* you want to stand confidently on your own two feet, but are always leaning on others.

Is it that we are programmed from youth to be the way we are due to a name? Or under the constellation we are born under? I might be just looking too much into this. Maybe not. One site that I got some interesting stuff off of (unfortunatly they want you to pay to really have much insight into names) http://www.namepower101.com/name_agories.php
Unfortunatly with the large scaleness of the internet if one types in name meanings one gets flooded with the billion and one sites of what to name a child. It's a lot to go through. Blah. I would let this go but as a writer I hate using names that I have used before, and setting up for a mostly MALE cast it is hard to keep up with the fresh names, especially in an area that had very regular names.

It's all in a name...

I always believed that we live up to our names, no matter what it is. I have found most people who share names are simular in personality. I've been fortunate in finding many Jennifers in my time. Even though I will forever mention that I was one of the queitest ones there seemed to be simularities in personality that is hard to ignore. For one that I have noticed with one or two of my friend "Jennifers" that they push people away but wish to have constant interaction with someone in some way. I am the same way but usually people don't understand why I push away with such force at some times. Others like my ex-work mate and another Jen as well as a neighbour Jen I have found out we know how to belch if it is allowed. I have known over eleven Jennifers in my lifetime, unfortunatly I found it hard to explain about them due to the fact that over time I have forgotten their last names and probably over more time they will fade like the kid on the third row in the kindergarden photograph.
But even with that in mind I got bored and googled a few of my friends and some came up in the first few views, some found in the depths of many, many, many pages, which took many, many, many hours to pour through when one digs through web sites on dial up. When I did myself however I found nothing. Talk about good or depressing. Good: I've done everything online possible to hide myself in the depths of many alises that no one will ever find me, even though my internet life is over ten years now. Wow hard to take that when I only have owned a computer since grade ten. or Depressing: I have done nothing that is note worthy. I noticed a Doctor Jennifer Brown, Street Hockey something or rather Jennifer Brown, another more renowned real estate agent, a HR, a 2004/2005 grad, singer. So HA! I look at all these peoples and think of all the good things they have done and I am lucky to be able to make my million before I die. *Sigh*
I can't imagine any of the Jennifers I have met going on and saving lives through medicial breakthough, winning gold medels (unless belching becomes a sport), or becomming distinguished actresses.
At least I can look forwards to one thing that probably be posted online for some other person before myself is that by the time I perish the obituaries will be predominatly done online. Perhaps by that time I may see something of myself online... Or perhaps that is all I wish to be ever known online of myself ^-^
Sorry to sound so depressive really I didn't mean it that way.

Soon a New Year...

Soon a New Year and still we are the same. I don't know about anyone else but I think I have made my new years resolution. Now it isn't to lose weight (like that will happen, I think if that is to happen I need to get sick or lypo), or to be less indecisive (I always think what could've been), or to make a bunch of money this year. No I think that human nature stops us from breaking the traditional everyday blah no matter what the best intentions are. It's too hard. That's why the resolution of not making resolutions is becomming a trend. However I'm going to actually make a resolution that I think I might be able to achieve if my habitory losing of stuff will allow me to keep it...

Do you really want to know?

Alright. I figure that I have a bunch of jewelery that I have collected over the matter of years. I'm going to go through it and throw out the one ofs that are of the cheap ass plastic earrings that I got years ago, clean them all verra well and start wearing some of this stuff. I have a plastic drawer full of jewelery, necklaces, rings and earrings that never see the light of day. Of course some of that stuff should never see the light of day and be dealt with in some way.

Okay so there it is. My crappy resolution, but I even have a back-up one that will DEFINELY fail fairly quickly... That is to wear eyeshadow and get through a day without wiping it across my temples as I rub the crap outta my eyes.

Anyways happy new years peoples of the internet and sorry for the long last post.

In the middle of holidays 2006!

Good salutations to those out there in cyberland...
Yes indeed it has been a busy holiday with a flurry of activities that makes it hard to stop to have a breath but it was all good, for it was all for friends and family.
Now lets see Lets start off with the 23. Ben told me only the morning before of a family friend get together that was held on that night. The unfortunate part of that was that they have a santa appearance and he gave everyone there a gift, that was provided by the people in attendance of course. So unfortunatly, rush, rush, rush gotta find a gift from "Santa". Believe me I was singing monty pythons "ho ho fucking ho" by the end of the night of the 22. However on the 23 it was all worth it. I would like to remind the city of Edmonton that there is snow taking up any street parking places and they WILL be held responsible for any hit and runs that come to my vechile since I HAVE to park in the MIDDLE of the street. There that's out of my system. Anyways I got to try a new assortment of treats, some which made me look for more, others which made me gag but over all there wasn't as if that ruined the evening or nothing. Got to try out the new wii system. I must admit that it was very good party entertainment. This is for the fact that the thing is interactive, easy to learn and many people quickly gained enough talent with it after a short time that it made it a great game. It was kinda funny that the guys who brought the system was waiting for the straps to fail or some sort of problem to happen so that they could get a picture of the host crying over his sad little 21" t.v. that was out of the 80s. Like that was going to happen...They replaced the wrist straps on the controllers with the heavy weight phone straps as soon as they heard that that was a problem, unlike the other stupid people out there. Continuing on...Ben got me a jewerly box with an inscription on it that made me cry, it was so sweet. Got to beat the crap out of the pinyota. Never got to do that before in my life so it was surprising that 1. I hit the darned thing and 2. hit it hard enough to crack it open and knock the paper mache hat off (which I wore until it was knocked off with flying pinyata pieces then it was sat on *cry*).

24. Wow got to sleep in a bit, even though I got home at 4am, but I was feverously working to try to finish off a fuzzy scarf for Kim and a nice blanket for mom (the blanket is still not completly finished so oh well) and Ben came over for my family's Christmas with him. Mom got a pot and pan set from him and she was tickled pink. I think no matter what he does this year he'll be in mom's good books. But seriously he needs to get himself a cell phone, and learn how to use it. It's difficult to handle someone that comes over for Christmas and I got NOTHING wrapped at that moment. So it was the game of either get Kim to entertain him or send him outside for a smoke. Both worked. At the end I gave him a "universal tool", which is a tool used for a spacific purpose but we found many ways to use the thing. If he hasn't found the real purpose for it I'll post a picture and you guys can have a crack at it, but right now he's watching me like a hawk, hoping I'll slip up and tell someone who will tell him...hehehehe I'm so evil. After that finish wrapping gifts. For some reason while wrapping gifts we get into strange conversations, this year, "what is the difference between a slut and a whore?". Some days I think I should really tape my mouth shut. "A slut is a person who gives themselves to a bunch of guys for sex, a whore is a used up slut, but you don't have to worry about that Kim, right now your not pretty enough to be a slut." At that moment I stopped and slapped myself in the forehead. (I had to put this story in cause Kim thought it funny and want to read it at a later time)

25. Christmas at home. It's so nice to see people really enjoy the amount of stuff we have under the tree, even though most of the gifts we give one another is stuff for the house or dollar store toys that will be broken 15 minutes after we take it out of the package. Mom loves seeing the Christmas tree brimming with gifts, and since this is the one time of year she gets to spoil us all. Yes it is very materialistic but really some of the stuff we get is stuff we would shop for anyways. This year we even got a bag of bird-feed and a set of dry measuring cups... which by the way my mom never heard of or really knew how to use -_- sometimes I wonder....

26. Dinner...Ben's father's side has a dinner every boxing day. So far I've been a good little doobie and gone to each and every one of them. This year however was a short one, everyone was gone out of the hall by eight which is a little surprising. The new final fantasy game is interesting looking but I hate the gameplay so I doubt that I'll ever buy a copy for myself, hells I'm not even interested in "borrowing" Ben's copy.

27. Laziness...Actually got some time to do some chores like gathering up my crap from Christmas and putting it in the back room. However it is impossible to move back there save for a small path to my room and the bathroom, due to everything that was in the front was piled infront of my awesomeness PSX bookshelf and the rest around the pool table is half completed shelf units. Thank goodness that mom put up some christmas lights on the other end of the room, since it is still dark in the mornings I get to make it out of the tunnel-like areas before stubbing my toes.

28. Got a day with Andrea! Which is awesomeness to the coolious. yeah...yeah... And dinner with Danielle and Danielle. Woot there is gonna be pictures as soon as I figure out how to put the pictures on my new camera onto my crap-ass old computer. But since I'm at work as well I can't pull the pictures off at this time anyways :P

29. Here I am at work, boring you all with a stupidly long blog posting that is just starting into the rant part...Sorry guys it's been busy and I haven't had time to split all these things on their own. Hells I barely got online long enough each day to get my neopet advant calendar. Sorry that's more important than blogging. I know I'm immature.

Anyways Christmas rant! I HATED Christmas this year. I never got into the real spirit this year. I think it was due to the fact that I was too busy to even think. Past that me and Ben weren't getting along very well at the beginning of the month combined with not getting a job for the umpteenth time, getting fired from the real estate office, dealing with Eric, having every vechile except for the new yorker break down on me (the New Yorker shouldn't be on the road)(but it hated Eric's truck kept pulling hard towards it every time when it was parked in the driveway LOL), and then combined with the every holiday pressures that it seems like I'm the only one that could deal with it. In the end I shut off most of my christmas music and bulk wrapped all my gifts and hid. I didn't get into fights in the store but I did get cut and bled pretty provously in the middle of WalMart.

But as soon as all the stress and gatherings pretty much died down I went it's too bad. I would've liked to get some more pictures of Santa with bunches of kids, watch the stupid shows on the CBC, taken some amount of higher effort with the gifts and thought things out more throughly. In the end however, everything turned out well. True this year I didn't trim my tree, nor brighten the dark corners with lights to call back the sun for a new season, nor give the high prayers to those who passed on and those who are still on this side of the dirt (but at least I have til Yule for those), but it seems a lot of us missed out on the season as well.

A murder over a christmas tree? Theft in the lines for people getting PS3s? Fist fights over what, a shirt or the last of something? Multitudes of accidents. Many more minor incidents that never made the news. People buying things that they have no desire in owning to make a small fortune, for people to find it in thrift stores a year later. People as they grow seem to forget the simple pleasures that some one gets out of something small.

I blame the media! They are the ones who declare that parents aren't good enough if they aren't the first in line to shell out thousands of dollars on PS3s, Wiis, Tickle me Elmos and any other fad that has hit the shelves. I remember getting a colouring book, a pack of crayons and a teddy and those three items kept me busy for most of christmas. Kim got one of those balls that move by themselves and she screamed for hours, but the media made it seem like they were bad people if they didn't get this for their little one. Media makes it so that dial-up internet, rabbit-earred peasant television and a nice home is something that isn't enough for the basics of life. Meanwhile our parents have done fine and proper with no computers, no mass amounts of television, no elmos. So I say give it a break materialistic bastards, and enjoy what is there. Almost everything that is for sale this year will be out next year and probably for a lot less. So I'll go off and enjoy the Soduku keychain my mom got out of the dollar store, as well as the other cheap stuff, and enjoy it for the enjoyment factor. And soon I'll get the t.v. box to pile more junk into. (Sorry we got a tv for christmas cause the one we had for almost 20 years is giving up the ghost but at least it's the cheaper non-plasma non-flat screen variety.)
Now I'm off to find a website that is dressed for Christmas with the blinky lights and all....

Things to think about....

1. Until you hurt something you never realize that you use it as much as you do.
2. If you are looking for a RED box you will find that there is way more red things you own than you expect, for instance I didn't realize I had a collection of red bound encyclopedias until I was looking for my Scattegories.
3. No matter how well you plan things or such there will be a child (mentally or physically) or someone with size D+ boobs that will get some sort of food, toothpaste or something down the front of their clothes.
4. One way or another makeup will be messed up by the end of the day.
5. Picture day, important interview, or first date, is of course, the day were you will get pimples even though you haven't touched any of your triggers in months.
6. Recipes will look better in the book or on TV than you can make. That's because they make them out of plastic and the stuff that they are eating is airbrushed, I swear.
7. If there is something REALLY important to print off that's when the ink will be out.
8. Murphy should be hung.
9. Whenever an actor is drinking beer on TV the drink is dyed and supposably very bitter and many want to puke afterwards, however after long enough they CAN actually stomach the stuff, must be like fast food.
10. Sometimes the harder one works at something creative, the less creative it becomes.
11. It's kinda okay to leave the christmas lights on all year on the house but its definely not okay to leave the halloween/easter/valentines decorations up all year round.
12. You get put on Crime Stoppers if you accidentally hit a lady, go out and check if she is alright, help her to the store, ask a few times more if she is alright and when you say "yes, I'm fine", and then leave...I saw the commercial on TV.
13. Are you getting more than your daily dose of Television/calcium?
14. How many words can you form out of ESAIIOUX ?
15. Define addiction. Now really think about that. There is now help for those who are addicted to the internet.

Actually now I can say this: There is so many things I want to do this next year.

Unfortunatly I wanted to go scating but I've been benched once more this year. So maybe next year.
Carrie and I thought of something really fun: Getting multiple people in a MSN chat opening thingy...*Smacks self for lack of real words* and playing all at once. I depends on a lot of trust in order that people aren't cheating but hey people only hurt themselves if they cheat and say the same thing someone else says. Therefore the search for Scategories as mentioned above, but it's alluding me. Perhaps I will be able to put my hands on it before the new year. Doubt it though... Christmas has placed my home into the usual disarray.

Anyways I'll leave that Chapter 5 will be soon up on my story blog, maybe it's chapter 6...Anf the next chapter should be hot on that one's heels, if anyone was wondering why I've been hiding a bit from writting on other peoples one paragraph stories. Hopefully I will be able to do more of that later in the month or in the new year, since I think Carries has died and probably Mel's have taken off since last I saw it. Chio.
